Allegro new APS11450 & APS12450 Three-Wire Hall-Effect Sensor

Allegro MicroSystems, has announced the release of the APS11450 and APS12450, adding two Hall-effect sensor ICs to its growing portfolio of solutions for systems that require functional safety. The APS11450 is a family of unipolar switch ICs, while the APS12450 devices are bipolar latches. They are pin-compatible upgrades for existing three-wire Hall switch and latch ICs developed in accordance with ISO 26262:2011 with ASIL-B capability (pending assessment).
These magnetic sensors have  integrated self-test features that are always active in the background while the system is running, leading to very short fault detection times. This action is automatic, and the tests are executed so quickly (25µs, typical) as to be transparent to host system—even in the case of latches used in high-speed motors and encoders. The unique voltage-mode output communicates the sensor’s status (including the safe state), while remaining backward compatible with logic-level interfaces, application circuits, wiring, and firmware.

Microchip New SAMV71Q21RT, SAMRH71 Radiation-Tolerant and Radiation-Hardened Arm® MCU

Microchip introduced the space industry’s first Arm®-based microcontrollers (MCUs) that combine the low-cost and large ecosystem benefits of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) technology with space-qualified versions that have scalable levels of radiation performance. Based on the automotive-qualified SAMV71, the SAMV71Q21RT radiation-tolerant and SAMRH71 radiation-hardened MCUs implement the widely deployed Arm® Cortex®-M7 System on Chip (SoC), enabling more integration, cost reduction and higher performance in space systems. SAMV71Q21RT is the radiation tolerant version of the popular Microchip SAMV71Q21. This space-qualified version of the product adds:  Ceramic & hermetic package, extended temperature range -40C to 125C, extended qualification flow according to QML-V or QML-Q space grade flow.  Radiation performance for the SAMV71Q21RT:  SEL LET > 60 MeV.cm2/mg (at 125C), and TID up to 20 Krad (Si). SAMRH71 is the Radiation-Hardened-By-Design (RHBD) version of the popular M

IDT New SPD Hub IC for DDR5 Server Memory Modules

IDT introduced the industry’s first integrated Serial Presence Detect (SPD), temperature sensor and control plane hub component (referred to as “SPD Hub”) developed for DDR5-based Dual In-Line Memory Modules (DIMM). The IDT® SPD Hub is designed to provide a space and power efficient solution that enables control plane operation at significantly higher speeds than previous system management buses with enhanced reliability. DDR5 memory is projected to double the bandwidth of DDR4, and as with previous generations of DDR memory, IDT’s devices are leading the market in performance and reliability. IDT’s DDR5 PMIC enables the next generation of server DIMM solutions to efficiently scale to greater performance, density and reliability while reducing overall system power. IDT’s SPD Hub significantly increases the system management bus performance by eliminating the bottlenecks of traditional system management buses. The DDR5 RCD, PMIC, SPD Hub and TS  devices are used in RDIMM, LRDIM
